West Block

In an elegant fusion of heritage and contemporary design, the West Block project comes to life through a collaboration with Capezio Copeland. As one of Canberra’s most iconic and historically significant buildings, it was a true privilege to contribute materials that now feature so extensively throughout.

Set across more than 8000 square metres, the project reflects a thoughtful interplay of custom-cut tiles, bespoke vanities, and crafted joinery, curated to enrich spaces both refined and practical. Each element embraces modern sophistication while preserving the iconic charm of this landmark Canberra building.

In the C-class offices, our Tiffany Quartzite seamlessly integrates subtle elegance, enhancing original dark timber elements alongside walnut veneer joinery panels and sophisticated lighting details. Bathrooms reveal harmonious pairings of Titanium Granite and Rosso Orobico Marble, softly transitioning from the gentle warmth of the ladies’ spaces to the refined, deeper tones within the men’s facilities.

Santa Margherita Arabescato Bianco Marble forms impressive centrepieces within kitchen islands and breakout spaces. Its warm white hues interact with acoustic treatments and the building’s original timber beams, creating a cohesive sense of comfort and luxury. Entranceways and planter boxes feature the soft contrast of Elba White Dolomite placed upon Nero Dorato tiles, forming a delicate link between the building’s historic façade and Canberra’s iconic red bricks. Alfresco area floors are dressed in our custom-cut Nero Dorato Marble tiles, crafting tranquil environments gently illuminated by natural daylight.

At the heart of the building lies the Heritage Café, showcasing the inviting warmth of our Travertine Havana. This carefully designed space draws visitors into a welcoming atmosphere of refined comfort.
